Project: Certificate issuing and verification system

Issuing certificates by hand is slow and easy to get wrong. Curtis Benhayon built a system for registered training organisations that does it in one step, and makes every document easy to check.
What it does
Reads a results export from the student management system.
Works out who finished a qualification, skill set or unit in the period.
Produces the right documents for each person: a completion letter, certificate and record of results, or a statement of attainment.
Keeps a register of every document issued, when, and to whom.
Supports more than one college, each with its own branding and signatures.
Verification built in
Every document carries a QR code holding its key details, digitally signed with public-key cryptography (Ed25519). Scanning it shows whether the document is genuine and unchanged. The code format was tested to stay readable on low-quality prints and scans.
How it is built
Node.js with an SQLite register.
Headless Chrome to produce print-quality PDFs.
End-to-end tests that issue a full batch and scan every QR code.
